From pipework design and installation through to tightness testing, purging, decommissioning and temporary heating arrangements, ComGas provides commercial gas services for offices, schools, retail premises and other commercial buildings across Surrey and surrounding counties — planned around how your site actually operates.
Commercial gas work covers more than the boiler itself.
A commercial gas installation is more than a single appliance. Pipework has to be designed and routed correctly, new or altered installations need to be tightness tested and purged before they go into service, redundant pipework needs to be safely decommissioned, and buildings occasionally need a temporary heating arrangement while planned or reactive work is carried out. Each of these is a distinct piece of work with its own process, and getting the sequencing right matters as much as the individual task.
ComGas brings all of this together for commercial and industrial customers across Surrey and surrounding counties, working alongside our wider Commercial & Industrial services and our commercial boiler servicing and heating maintenance programme. Whether you need a specific piece of gas work carried out as a one-off, or want it considered as part of a broader project or maintenance relationship, the same team can scope it, explain the process and confirm what is required before anything is authorised.

Incredible service — problems fixed perfectly once again.
Lee, Paul and the team at COMGAS are fantastic. They arrived on time and got straight to work, quickly identifying the root cause of the plumbing and heating issues I was experiencing.
The problems were diagnosed swiftly, I was kept fully informed throughout, and both issues were fixed with impressive speed and precision.
Having worked in the industry for nearly 20 years, I know how rare it is to find reliable, trustworthy, and genuinely skilled professionals — let alone a team this good.
I joked about it at the time, but it’s true: I had the best shower I’ve ever had in this house after they finished the job — and I’ve lived here for 10 years!
I honestly couldn’t ask for more and can’t recommend COMGAS highly enough.

Commercial gas FAQs
Questions about our commercial gas services
Common questions about pipework, testing, purging, decommissioning and temporary heating arrangements.
Do I need pipework, testing or purging, or all three?
It depends on the work involved. New or altered pipework is normally followed by a tightness test and, where required, purging before an appliance is put back into service. If you are not sure which applies to your situation, describe the work you are planning and we can confirm the right sequence.
Can you decommission gas pipework ahead of a refurbishment?
Yes. Where a refurbishment, strip-out or change of use means gas pipework or appliances are no longer required, we can safely disconnect and cap the redundant installation, sequenced around the wider project programme.
Can you arrange a temporary boiler or temporary heating if ours fails?
We can assess the site and discuss what temporary arrangement may be suitable, depending on the load, connections available and what has been agreed. Scope and availability always depend on a survey and the arrangements confirmed at the time — we do not guarantee stock, delivery timescales or continuity of supply in advance of that assessment.
Do these services cover boiler servicing and maintenance as well?
Boiler servicing and heating maintenance sit on our dedicated Commercial Heating & Boiler Maintenance page, which is preserved as part of our main Commercial & Industrial services. Gas pipework, testing, purging, decommissioning and temporary heating on this hub can be arranged alongside a maintenance programme where relevant.
Which buildings do you carry out commercial gas work for?
We work across a range of commercial and industrial buildings, including offices, retail premises, education settings, care and residential settings, and hospitality and leisure sites. Each piece of work is scoped to the specific site and installation rather than a standard template.
Tell us about the commercial gas work you need and we'll advise on the right next step.
Whether it is pipework, testing, purging, decommissioning or a temporary heating arrangement, share what you need and any access or timescale constraints. The team can advise on scope before any survey or quotation is arranged.
