Where a project spans plant rooms, mechanical installation, and coordination across gas, heating, plumbing and HVAC disciplines, ComGas provides mechanical services for offices, schools and commercial buildings across Surrey and surrounding counties — surveyed, specified and coordinated against an agreed scope.
One team coordinating across mechanical disciplines
Mechanical services is where gas, heating, plumbing and HVAC come together.
Some commercial projects are naturally single-discipline — a boiler replacement, a pump installation, a ventilation upgrade. Others need several disciplines coordinated at once: a plant room refurbishment touching gas pipework, heating circuits, pumps and controls; a full mechanical installation for a new or refurbished building; or a wider commercial refurbishment where mechanical services need to be re-planned around a changed layout. Mechanical Services is the category we use for that cross-discipline work.
ComGas provides mechanical services for offices, schools, retail developments and other commercial buildings across Surrey and surrounding counties, coordinating our own gas, heating and plumbing teams and, where your project already has an appointed consultant or design team, coordinating installation against their design rather than duplicating it. Where no separate design exists, we specify the mechanical installation within the scope agreed with you.
This hub currently has a dedicated page for Plant Rooms — the multi-discipline plant room design, installation and refurbishment service. Full mechanical installations, mechanical design input, mechanical upgrades and commercial refurbishments are all part of the wider mechanical services scope we cover; get in touch and we can confirm how your specific project is scoped even where it does not yet have its own dedicated page here.

Survey, agree a scope, coordinate the trades, then deliver.
A multi-discipline mechanical project starts the same way as a single-discipline one — with a survey of the existing installation and a clear scope agreed with you. What changes is the coordination: gas, heating, plumbing, electrical and controls trades all need to be sequenced correctly, particularly in a plant room where several systems share the same space and, often, the same shutdown window.
Where your project already has an appointed consultant, architect or M&E designer, we coordinate installation against their design and specification. Where no separate design team is involved, we specify the mechanical installation within the scope you agree with us, rather than assuming open-ended design responsibility across the whole project. Either way, the same team stays involved from survey through to handover, so nothing is lost between disciplines.
Survey of existing plant and installation before scoping
Coordination with your appointed consultant's design where one exists
Multi-discipline trades sequenced around a single project programme
Installation to the scope agreed with you, not an open-ended brief
Coordinated shutdown and commissioning across disciplines

Incredible service — problems fixed perfectly once again.
Lee, Paul and the team at COMGAS are fantastic. They arrived on time and got straight to work, quickly identifying the root cause of the plumbing and heating issues I was experiencing.
The problems were diagnosed swiftly, I was kept fully informed throughout, and both issues were fixed with impressive speed and precision.
Having worked in the industry for nearly 20 years, I know how rare it is to find reliable, trustworthy, and genuinely skilled professionals — let alone a team this good.
I joked about it at the time, but it’s true: I had the best shower I’ve ever had in this house after they finished the job — and I’ve lived here for 10 years!
I honestly couldn’t ask for more and can’t recommend COMGAS highly enough.

I recently used Comgas for a gas and heating service, and I couldn't be more impressed! From start to finish, their team was professional, friendly, and highly knowledgeable. They quickly identified the issue with my heating system and explained everything in detail, offering both short- and long-term solutions.
The technician was punctual and took extra care to ensure everything was running smoothly. I really appreciated their attention to detail and how they made sure to clean up after the work was completed. My home is now warm and cozy, all thanks to their expert service. I highly recommend Comgas for anyone looking for reliable, efficient, and trustworthy gas and heating professionals!

Mechanical services FAQs
Questions about our mechanical services
Common questions about scope, coordination and what to expect from a mechanical services project.
What counts as a "mechanical services" project rather than a single-discipline job?
Generally, any project where more than one discipline — gas, heating, plumbing, electrical or controls — needs coordinating together, such as a plant room refurbishment or a full mechanical installation for a refurbished building.
Do you design our mechanical installation, or work to an existing design?
Both are possible. Where your own consultant or design team has already produced a specification, we coordinate installation against it. Where there is no separate design, we specify the mechanical installation within the scope agreed with you.
Do you cover services that don't have a dedicated page yet?
Yes. This hub currently has a dedicated page for Plant Rooms. Full mechanical installations, mechanical design input, mechanical upgrades and commercial refurbishments are all part of our wider mechanical services scope — get in touch and we can confirm how your project is scoped.
Can you work alongside our own consultant or principal contractor?
Yes. Where a project already has an appointed consultant, architect or principal contractor, we coordinate our mechanical scope with theirs rather than working in isolation.
How do you manage a project that needs a coordinated plant room shutdown?
We plan the shutdown and sequencing across all trades involved as one programme, agreed with you in advance, so gas, heating, plumbing, electrical and controls work is coordinated rather than causing repeated separate periods of disruption.
What is included in a mechanical services quotation?
A quotation sets out the agreed scope of work following our site survey across all disciplines involved. Anything outside that agreed scope is separately discussed before it is added to the project.
Planning a plant room project or a wider mechanical installation?
Tell us about the building, the disciplines involved, and any existing consultant or design team. We can advise on the right approach and arrange a site survey where appropriate.
