How we approach LPG heating

LPG systems are installed, converted and serviced by engineers registered specifically for LPG, with supply and pipework sized correctly for the gas and the property.
LPG Boilers and Conversions
LPG boilers are broadly similar to natural gas boilers in appearance and control, but they're set up and commissioned specifically for LPG, not simply supplied with a different gas.
LPG boilers use different injectors and regulator settings, and are combustion-analysed specifically for LPG during commissioning

For an off-mains property, LPG, oil and a heat pump each suit a different set of circumstances.
None of the main off-mains heating options is universally better than the others — each suits a different combination of existing pipework, available space and how the household actually wants its heating and hot water to behave. LPG and oil both deliver boiler-like performance close to what a mains gas system provides, with the main practical difference being how the fuel is stored and supplied on site. A heat pump runs on electricity rather than a delivered fuel, but works best at a lower flow temperature, which usually means larger radiators or underfloor heating and good insulation to get the most from it.
The existing appliance stock and pipework in a property often decide which option is genuinely practical to move to, as much as any comparison of running costs. A house already piped for LPG or oil can convert to the other with a boiler and supply change; moving to a heat pump is a bigger step that touches the emitters as well as the heat source. What's different about an LPG boiler compared to a natural gas boiler?

Can my existing gas boiler be converted to run on LPG?
Many boilers can be converted using a manufacturer-approved conversion kit, followed by full re-commissioning and combustion analysis specifically for LPG. Not every model has a conversion kit available, so this is checked against your specific boiler.
Do I need a bulk tank, or can I use cylinders?

How much space does an LPG tank need, and how close can it be to the house?
