Commercial Gas Services & Installation in Surrey

From new commercial gas installations and pipework through to tightness testing, purging, decommissioning, planned maintenance and temporary heating, ComGas provides commercial gas services for offices, schools, care homes, retail premises and other commercial buildings across Surrey and surrounding counties, planned around how your site actually operates.

  • Gas Safe registered engineers
  • Pipework, testing, purging & decommissioning
  • Temporary heating arrangements co-ordinated
  • Commercial & industrial coverage
One team across the whole commercial gas scope

Commercial gas work covers more than the boiler itself.

A commercial gas installation is more than a single appliance. Pipework has to be designed and routed correctly, new or altered installations need to be tightness tested and purged before they go into service, redundant pipework needs to be safely decommissioned, and buildings occasionally need a temporary heating arrangement while planned or reactive work is carried out. Each of these is a distinct piece of work with its own process, and getting the sequencing right matters as much as the individual task.

ComGas brings all of this together for commercial and industrial customers across Surrey and surrounding counties, working alongside our wider Commercial & Industrial services and our commercial boiler servicing and heating maintenance programme. Whether you need a specific piece of gas work carried out as a one-off, or want it considered as part of a broader project or maintenance relationship, the same team can scope it, explain the process and confirm what is required before anything is authorised. For the safety checks and written records your premises need, see commercial gas safety certificates.

Planned. Professional. Practical.

Commercial gas maintenance

Commercial gas servicing and maintenance, planned around your site.

Alongside installation, pipework, testing, purging, decommissioning and temporary heating, ComGas provides planned commercial gas servicing and maintenance: boilers, catering equipment and other gas appliances serviced at an agreed frequency, with findings documented after each visit and the relevant gas safety records issued for the work undertaken.

Where a piece of gas work forms part of a wider project — a new boiler installation, a plant room upgrade or a scheduled maintenance visit that identifies further work — the same team can bring it together, so pipework, testing, purging and any temporary arrangement are sequenced correctly around the main project.

  • Planned commercial boiler servicing
  • Heating system and plant maintenance
  • Documented findings after each visit
  • Co-ordinated with any related gas pipework or purging works
  • Available as a one-off service or an ongoing programme
  • Confirmed scope agreed before work begins

Commercial gas FAQs

Questions about our commercial gas services

Common questions about commercial gas installation, pipework, testing, purging, maintenance and temporary heating.

Talk to the commercial gas team
Do I need pipework, testing or purging, or all three?

It depends on the work involved. New or altered pipework is normally followed by a tightness test and, where required, purging before an appliance is put back into service. If you are not sure which applies to your situation, describe the work you are planning and we can confirm the right sequence.

Can you decommission gas pipework ahead of a refurbishment?

Yes. Where a refurbishment, strip-out or change of use means gas pipework or appliances are no longer required, we can safely disconnect and cap the redundant installation, sequenced around the wider project programme.

Can you arrange a temporary boiler or temporary heating if ours fails?

We can assess the site and discuss what temporary arrangement may be suitable, depending on the load, connections available and what has been agreed. Scope and availability always depend on a survey and the arrangements confirmed at the time — we do not guarantee stock, delivery timescales or continuity of supply in advance of that assessment.

Do these services cover boiler servicing and maintenance as well?

Yes. Planned commercial boiler servicing and heating maintenance are covered in detail on our Commercial Heating & Boiler Maintenance page. Gas pipework inspections, tightness testing and any remedial gas work can be arranged within the same maintenance programme, so one team looks after the whole gas installation.

Which buildings do you carry out commercial gas work for?

We work across a range of commercial and industrial buildings, including offices, retail premises, education settings, care and residential settings, and hospitality and leisure sites. Each piece of work is scoped to the specific site and installation rather than a standard template.

Do you install gas supplies for new commercial boilers and appliances?

Yes. We design and install the gas installation from the meter to new boilers, catering equipment and other commercial appliances, then tightness test, purge and commission it before handover. Where a new or upgraded gas supply or meter is needed, that is provided by the gas transporter or meter operator, and we plan the internal installation around it.

Are your commercial gas engineers Gas Safe registered?

Yes. ComGas Services UK Ltd is Gas Safe registered, registration number 629080, and commercial work is carried out by engineers qualified for the non-domestic gas work involved. Details of our registration are on our Gas Safe Register page.
