We start by understanding how the building is actually occupied and used — which areas are in constant use, which are occasional, and how that compares with the existing zoning and time programming. From there we specify a controls upgrade that matches the building as it is now, rather than assuming the original design intent still applies after refurbishments, extensions or changes in use.
Installation is coordinated with the wider heating circuit — pumps, pressurisation units and any existing BMS — so controls work as part of the whole system rather than as an isolated addition. Once installed, we explain the programming clearly to site staff, so day-to-day adjustments can be made without needing to call us out for routine changes.
Buildings change use over time — a school hall used only occasionally, offices reconfigured into different departments, or a care setting with rooms in more constant use than others. We consider current occupancy, any existing or planned Building Management System, and the age and condition of existing controls, before specifying an upgrade, so the result reflects the building today rather than its original design brief.
