A sold-out Barfield Summer Ball in Runfold
The Barfield Summer Ball was held on Saturday 27 June 2026, in marquees on the grounds of Barfield Prep School on Guildford Road in Runfold, a few minutes from our base in Farnham. The evening was arranged by Barfield Friends, the school’s parents’ association.
Interest was immediate. Tickets sold out in just over an hour, and 165 guests came on the night. The evening raised £16,500 for the school’s chosen charities.

ComGas sponsored the bar
Several local businesses backed the evening. ComGas sponsored the bar, on the grounds that it is where people gather, and that an evening tends to run rather more smoothly when everyone is properly refreshed.
It was set up in the main marquee, fronted with foliage, with our sign on the counter behind it.

ComGas also appeared on the sponsor board at the entrance, alongside the other businesses supporting the ball, and on the event shirts worn on the night.

What the school said
The school wrote to ComGas after the event.
Events like this simply wouldn’t be possible without the backing of local businesses who share our commitment to supporting the community. Your sponsorship made a genuine difference, and we are immensely grateful for your kindness and support.
Andrew Boyle, Headmaster, Barfield Prep School

Why we support schools close to home
ComGas is a Farnham business, and the schools, clubs and community organisations we support are mostly within a few miles of our unit on Riverside Park Estate.
ComGas believes long-term school maintenance relationships should create value beyond the plant room. Depending on the size and scope of the agreement, we may work with schools on agreed initiatives that directly benefit pupils and the wider school community.
We also sponsor football, basketball and netball kit for teams at All Hallows Catholic School in Farnham. A ball is a different sort of support — one evening, one clear thing to back — but the thinking behind it is the same.
Building services for school estates
ComGas is an independent mechanical, electrical and building services contractor based at Riverside Park Estate in Farnham. We maintain and upgrade school estates across Surrey and the surrounding counties — plant rooms and boiler replacement, heating and LTHW distribution, commercial gas, plumbing and hot water, ventilation and kitchen extract, electrical installation and testing, and planned maintenance and compliance. Most of the disruptive work is planned for school holidays and out of hours, so teaching and school routines are not interrupted.
ComGas is Gas Safe registered and holds OFTEC and REFCOM F-Gas registration, with CHAS and Constructionline accreditation for procurement and compliance checks. Electrical installation work is carried out in accordance with BS 7671 (18th Edition), with appropriate certification and documentation provided where required.
