Does Gas Safe registration cover commercial gas work?
Registration covers the specific categories of gas work each engineer is qualified for. Commercial work such as plant rooms, catering equipment and non-domestic pipework testing needs commercial categories, so we match the engineer to the work before it begins.
What should I ask to see when an engineer arrives?
Ask for their Gas Safe ID card. It carries the engineer’s photograph and licence number, and the reverse lists the categories of gas work they are qualified to carry out.
What should I do if I smell gas?
If you smell gas, turn off the supply if it is safe to do so and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 before contacting us.
