Project Overview
We worked along side a building contractor who were appointed to install steel reinforcement to support failing RAAC planks at St Pauls Catholic School, Thames Ditton.
The works included the safe isolation and strip out of all Mechanical and Electrical services to enable the works to proceed. This included;
Mechanical
- The existing hot and cold domestic water services running at high level within corridors and WC’s were isolated and adjusted as necessary to suit the new steel installation.
- Existing carbon steel LTHW heating flow and return services were adjusted, as required, to suit the proposed steel installation.
Electrical
- All existing electrical containment within the corridors to be adjusted to suit the installation of the new steep supports (approx. 100mm from load bearing wall). All wiring was removed or adjusted to enable the installation.
Fire Alarm
- Fire alarm – All existing fire alarm cabling and components within the corridor were adjusted and modified to suit the new steel installation.
Intruder Alarm
- Intruder alarm – All existing fire alarm cabling and components within the corridor were adjusted and modified to suit the new steel installation.
Following the removal of the above, we reinstalled all services to full working order. We are delighted to say that the project completed two weeks early, allowing the main contractor to handover, enabling the staff and school children back into their classrooms ahead of schedule.
