ComGas works as a commercial plumbing contractor for offices, schools, retail developments and other commercial buildings across Surrey and surrounding counties — coordinating pipework, hot and cold water systems, pumps and drainage as a single, properly sequenced scope of work, rather than a series of unconnected call-outs.
A contractor who coordinates the whole plumbing scope
Commercial plumbing is rarely a single job — it needs one contractor who can see across all of it.
Appointing a commercial plumbing contractor usually means more than fixing one leak or replacing one pump. It means someone who can survey a building's existing hot and cold water systems, pipework and pumps, understand how they interact, and specify and sequence the work needed — whether that is a single new installation, a phased refurbishment, or an ongoing reactive and planned maintenance relationship. ComGas provides this contractor role for commercial and industrial buildings across Surrey and surrounding counties.
This page covers our role as a commercial plumbing contractor generally. Water and heating-circuit pipework is our scope here; gas pipework is a separate, gas-specific service on our Commercial Gas pages, and the two are coordinated rather than duplicated where a project needs both. Our dedicated Hot Water Systems and Pump Installations pages cover those specific disciplines in more depth; pipework installations, cold water systems, booster sets, water treatment, chlorination, commercial drainage and leak detection are all part of the same commercial plumbing scope we cover, and we are happy to discuss any of these even where a dedicated page for that specific discipline is still being built.
Every project starts with a site survey, not a standard price list. We look at what is already installed, how the building operates, and what any related consultant or design already specifies, before agreeing a scope of work and a programme with you. Where no separate design exists, we specify the plumbing installation within the brief you agree with us, and coordinate installation, testing and handover as one sequenced project rather than a series of disconnected visits.

What our commercial plumbing contractor service covers
Pipework, water systems, pumps and drainage — coordinated as one scope.
A commercial plumbing contract can cover one discipline or several. Below is how we typically group the work; ask us where your requirement doesn't map neatly to one of these.
Pipework Installations & Alterations
New pipework runs and alterations to existing water and heating-circuit pipework for refurbishment, extension or change-of-use projects.
New pipework runs sized to actual demand
Alterations for refurbishment and fit-out projects
Water and heating-circuit pipework only — gas pipework sits on Commercial Gas
Survey first, specify against an agreed scope, then coordinate delivery.
We start every commercial plumbing instruction with a site survey — looking at the existing installation, how the building is used, and what any consultant's design already specifies. From there we agree a scope of work with you, including any access, working-hours or phasing constraints, before pricing or programming the project.
Where your own consultant or design team has produced drawings or a specification, our role is to coordinate installation against that design. Where no separate design exists, we specify the plumbing installation within the brief agreed with you, rather than taking on open-ended design responsibility beyond what has actually been agreed. Either way, work is carried out, tested and handed over with the completed scope confirmed in writing.
Site survey ahead of any specification or quotation
Coordination with your consultant's design where one exists
Installation to the scope agreed with you, not an open-ended brief
Work sequenced around occupied or operational buildings
Every commercial building has different constraints — occupied space, restricted access routes, other services sharing the same riser or ceiling void, and operating hours that limit when disruptive work can happen. We consider all of this before finalising a scope, alongside general water-hygiene good practice for hot and cold water systems, so the plan we propose is one that can realistically be installed, maintained and, if needed, altered again in future.
Access and working-hours constraints identified early
Existing services and risers considered when routing pipework
Isolation points positioned for practical future maintenance
General water-hygiene good practice reflected in hot and cold water specification
Every plumbing contract is scoped to the specific building and installation. Sizing, routing and sequencing are agreed with you before work begins rather than assumed from a standard template.

Incredible service — problems fixed perfectly once again.
Lee, Paul and the team at COMGAS are fantastic. They arrived on time and got straight to work, quickly identifying the root cause of the plumbing and heating issues I was experiencing.
The problems were diagnosed swiftly, I was kept fully informed throughout, and both issues were fixed with impressive speed and precision.
Having worked in the industry for nearly 20 years, I know how rare it is to find reliable, trustworthy, and genuinely skilled professionals — let alone a team this good.
I joked about it at the time, but it’s true: I had the best shower I’ve ever had in this house after they finished the job — and I’ve lived here for 10 years!
I honestly couldn’t ask for more and can’t recommend COMGAS highly enough.

I recently used Comgas for a gas and heating service, and I couldn't be more impressed! From start to finish, their team was professional, friendly, and highly knowledgeable. They quickly identified the issue with my heating system and explained everything in detail, offering both short- and long-term solutions.
The technician was punctual and took extra care to ensure everything was running smoothly. I really appreciated their attention to detail and how they made sure to clean up after the work was completed. My home is now warm and cozy, all thanks to their expert service. I highly recommend Comgas for anyone looking for reliable, efficient, and trustworthy gas and heating professionals!

Commercial plumbing contractor FAQs
Questions about appointing a commercial plumbing contractor
Common questions about scope, process and what to expect when you appoint ComGas as your commercial plumbing contractor.
What does a commercial plumbing contractor cover that a general plumber doesn't?
A commercial plumbing contractor coordinates multiple systems — pipework, hot and cold water, pumps and drainage — as one scoped project, often alongside other trades or a wider refurbishment programme, rather than responding to individual call-outs one at a time.
Do you handle both new-build and refurbishment plumbing projects?
Yes. We work on new installations, refurbishment and re-fit projects, and reactive repairs, surveying the existing installation first in every case so the scope reflects the actual building rather than an assumption.
Can you coordinate plumbing work alongside other trades on a project?
Yes. Where a project involves other mechanical, electrical or building trades, we coordinate our plumbing scope with theirs, and can work alongside your appointed principal contractor or project manager where one is in place.
Do you design our plumbing system, or work to an existing design?
Both are possible. Where your own consultant has already produced a design, we coordinate installation against it. Where there is no separate design, we specify the plumbing installation within the scope agreed with you, rather than taking on open-ended design responsibility.
What is included in a commercial plumbing quotation?
A quotation sets out the agreed scope of work following our site survey, including the pipework, fittings, pumps or water systems covered. Anything outside that agreed scope is separately discussed before it is added to the work.
Can commercial plumbing be arranged as an ongoing contract rather than a one-off project?
Yes. Alongside individual projects, plumbing systems can be included within a wider commercial maintenance arrangement — see our Service & Maintenance page for how a planned, ongoing contract works.
Appointing a commercial plumbing contractor, or planning a specific project?
Tell us about the building, the systems involved and any access or timescale constraints. We can advise on the right approach and arrange a site survey where appropriate.
